About Rancagua: Estadio El Teniente (oficialmente Estadio Codelco El Teniente) in Rancagua, Chile, is a historic coastal-mountain stadium famous for both local passion and global tournaments. Built in 1945 and renovated most recently in 2013-2014, it holds about 14,087 spectators (12,476 for international matches), with grass surface, modern LED scoreboard, VIP suites, and a few upgraded seating sectors. Its home ground of the club OHiggins and has hosted major events like the 1962 FIFA World Cup group and quarter-final matches, Copa América 2015 games, South American U-17 and U-20 Championships, among others. For the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, Estadio El Teniente is one of the four announced host stadiums. It will host several group stage matches in Rancagua and is being prepped with infrastructure improvements to meet FIFA requirements for youth international competition. Fans in Rancagua are gearing up to welcome youth teams from around the globe, turning El Teniente into a vibrant stage for the stars of tomorrow.
