About Gramado: Gramado is a small tourist city, southeast of Caxias do Sul and east of Nova Petrópolis in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Serra Gaúcha region. The city was originally settled by Azorean descendants and later received a contingent of German and Italian immigrants. // Gramado é um município do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, no Brasil. Localiza-se na Serra Gaúcha, mais precisamente na Região das Hortênsias, a uma latitude 29º 22 44 sul e a uma longitude 50º 52 26 oeste, estando a uma altitude de 830 metros. Sua população estimada em 2018 é de 35.875 habitantes. Possui uma área de 237,019 quilômetros quadrados. Seu principal acesso se dá através da RS-115, embora também seja atendida pelas rodovias RS-235 e RS-373. // Caracol Falls, or Cascata do Caracol, is a 426-foot (130 meter) waterfall about 4.35 miles (7.00 km) from Canela, Brazil in Caracol State Park (Parque do Caracol). It is formed by the Caracol River and cuts out of basalt cliffs in the Serra Geral mountain range, falling into the Vale da Lageana. The falls are situated between the pinheiral (pine forest) zone of the Brazilian Highlands and the southern coastal Atlantic Forest. The base of the waterfall can be reached by a steep 927-step trail maintained by the Projeto Lobo-Guará. // Cachoeira do Caracol é uma cachoeira de 130 metros, localizada a 7 quilômetros do município de Canela, no Parque Estadual do Caracol. É formada pelo rio Caracol e corta de falésias basálticas na Serra Geral, caindo no Vale da Lageana. As quedas estão situadas entre a zona pinheiral (floresta de pinheiros) do Planalto Brasileiro e a Mata Atlântica do litoral sul. A base da cachoeira pode ser alcançada por uma trilha íngreme de 927 degraus mantida pelo Projeto Lobo-Guará.
