About Guatemala City: Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City—commonly known as La Pedrera—is one of the countrys most important football and multi-use venues. Opened in November 1991 and named after the local cement company, Cementos Progreso, the stadium seats around 17,000 spectators and features a high-quality artificial turf pitch surrounded by Guatemalas first synthetic IAAF-standard running track. It plays host to Comunicaciones F.C., Guatemalas most successful football club, and since 2025 has held international matches for the Guatemala national team. With modern amenities, flexible seating configurations for large events, and the ability to host concerts, athletics, and football, Estadio Cementos Progreso is a true hub of Guatemalan sport and culture.
