In 2018, Miroslaw Wawak traveled to Rwanda, a country that amazed him with its resilience, progress, and striking natural beauty. Kigali offered a glimpse into a society healing from its past with grace, growth, and hope. He visited genocide memorials and spoke with locals who shared powerful stories of forgiveness and rebuilding. In Volcanoes National Park, he hiked into mist-covered slopes to observe endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat—a deeply emotional and unforgettable experience. Rwanda’s rolling hills, clean cities, and social harmony offered a model of what a small nation can achieve. It was one of the most moving and transformative stops on his African journey.
