Taiwan Drone Flight: Taiwan, 180km east of China, is known for modern cities, traditional Chinese temples, hot springs resorts and dramatic mountainous terrain. Taipei, in the north, has a number of busy night markets, as well as Chinese Imperial art at the National Palace Museum. Taipei 101, a 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped skyscraper with an observation deck, rises above the city. The verdant mountains of central Taiwan encompass Alishan National Scenic Area, with Tsou aboriginal villages and a narrow-gauge train, and nearby, picturesque Sun Moon Lake. Popular hiking areas include Yushan, a mountain with a 3,952m summit, and the riverside paths of Taroko Gorge, featuring towering cliff walls and turquoise water. Taichung is known for its teahouses. Georgia Drone Flight: Georgia, a country at the intersection of Europe and Asia, is a former Soviet republic thats home to Caucasus Mountain villages and Black Sea beaches. Its famous for Vardzia, a sprawling cave monastery dating to the 12th century, and the ancient wine-growing region Kakheti. The capital, Tbilisi, is known for the diverse architecture and mazelike, cobblestone streets of its old town. Looming above Tbilisi is Narikala Castle, a reconstructed fortress founded in the 4th century and used during later Turkish and Persian occupations. The 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is one of many notable Georgian Orthodox churches centered on the nearby town of Mtskheta. Russia Drone Flight: Russia, the worlds largest nation, borders European and Asian countries as well as the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Its landscape ranges from tundra and forests to subtropical beaches. Its famous for Moscows Bolshoi and St. Petersburgs Mariinsky ballet companies. Saint Kitts and Nevis Drone Flight: Saint Kitts and Nevis is a dual-island nation situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Its known for cloud-shrouded mountains and beaches. Many of its former sugar plantations are now inns or atmospheric ruins. The larger of the 2 islands, Saint Kitts, is dominated by the dormant Mount Liamuiga volcano, home to a crater lake, green vervet monkeys and rainforest crisscrossed with hiking trails. Sweden Drone Flight: Malmö is a coastal city in southern Sweden. It lies at the eastern end of the striking Öresund Bridge, a long road and railway bridge–tunnel running to Copenhagen, Denmark. In the city center, Lilla Torg is a cobblestone square with cafes, half-timbered houses and shops selling local handicrafts. Malmö Castle, a 16th-century fortress built by King Christian III of Denmark, houses nature, history and art exhibits. The Malmö Konsthall, a cavernous, light-filled exhibition space, displays international contemporary art. More contemporary and modern works are on show at Moderna Museet Malmö, housed in a former 1901 electricity plant. To the west, Ribersborg Beach is popular for its Kallbadhus, an open-air public bathhouse with saltwater pools, plus saunas and a cafe. Svalbard and Jan Mayen Drone Flight: Longyearbyen is a small coal-mining town on Spitsbergen Island, in Norways Svalbard archipelago. This Arctic town is known for its views of the Northern Lights. The modern Svalbard Museum chronicles the regions natural and cultural history. It includes a stuffed polar bear. Live bears can occasionally be seen in the area. The North Pole Expeditions Museum recounts early efforts to reach the pole by air. Longyearbyen is on Adventfjorden Bay, which can be crossed by boat to reach Hiorthfjellet Mountains trails. Nearby, the Gruve 3 coal mine depicts Svalbards mining history. The underground Svalbard Global Seed Vault preserves backups of the worlds seeds in the name of food security. Spain Drone Flight: Tenerife is the largest of Spains Canary Islands, off West Africa. Its dominated by Mt. Teide, a dormant volcano that is Spains tallest peak. Tenerife may be best known for its Carnaval de Santa Cruz, a huge pre-Lent festival with parades, music, dancing and colorful costumes. The island has many beaches (with sands from yellow to black) and resort areas, including Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas. Resorts on the south and west coasts feature high-end restaurants, night clubs, golf courses and water sports like kiteboarding and diving. On the northern side, towns like Garachico and Puerto de la Cruz have more of a traditional, colonial feel, with restaurants serving seafood-focused native Canarian dishes. The capital, Santa Cruz, is a port city with wide, tree-lined boulevards. Slovenia Drone Flight: Ljubljana is Slovenias capital and largest city. Its known for its university population and green spaces, including expansive Tivoli Park. The curving Ljubljanica River, lined in outdoor cafes, divides the citys old town from its commercial hub. Ljubljana has many museums, including the National Museum of Slovenia, displaying historic exhibitions, and the Museum of Modern Art, home to 20th-century Slovene paintings and sculptures. Ljubljana hosts many distinctive structures by native 20th-century architect Jože Plečnik, including the iconic Tromostovje (Triple Bridge) over the river. Many notable sites are near the Tromostovje. These include the Prešernov Trg (central square), with art nouveau buildings and a turn-of-the-century statue of the plazas namesake poet, France Prešeren. Nearby, the baroque domed cathedral has twin towers. Moving south, Plečniks palazzo-style National and University Library features Roman archaeological remnants at its base. Guadeloupe Drone Flight: Guadeloupe, a French overseas region, is an island group in the southern Caribbean Sea. Resembling a butterfly, its 2 largest islands are separated by the Salée River. Hilly Grande-Terre Island has long beaches and sugarcane fields. On Basse-Terre Island, Parc National de la Guadeloupe encompasses Carbet Falls and the volcano La Grande Soufrière. Smaller islands include Marie-Galante and La Désirade. Pointe-à-Pitre, the capital, has narrow, busy streets and colorful Caribbean markets including Marché Saint-Antoine. Beaches line the coast, ranging from Grand-Terres soft white sand at Anse des Salines to the black volcanic variety on Basse-Terres west end. Puerto Rico Drone Flight: Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory with a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and the El Yunque tropical rainforest. In San Juan, the capital and largest city, the Isla Verde area is known for its hotel strip, beach bars and casinos. Its Old San Juan neighborhood features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive, centuries-old fortresses. A popular vacation destination, the island is known for white-sand beaches and coral reefs, and common pastimes include snorkeling, diving, surfing, and sailing. On the south coast, the city of Ponce has a mix of architecture styles like art deco and neoclassical. Its also a gateway to the Toro Negro forest, a popular hiking spot. Off the east coast, Vieques Island is renowned for its blue-green Bioluminescent Bay, which appears to glow, plus its wildlife refuge where horses roam freely. Australia Drone Flight: Western Australia, covering the entire western third of the country, is made up mostly of the arid Outback. Its population is concentrated in its fertile southwest corner, home to the Margaret River wine region and the riverside capital, Perth. In the far north, the Kimberley region is home to ancient Aboriginal rock art, the Bungle Bungle sandstone domes and Broome, with Cable Beach camels and a pearling industry. Across the Swan River from Perth is Fremantle, a port city noted for its 19th-century architecture. Also from Perth, the 1,000km Bibbulmun Track crosses forests, hills and coastline to Albany, site of annual whale migrations. Brazil Drone Flight: Brazil, a vast South American country, stretches from the Amazon Basin in the north to vineyards and massive Iguaçu Falls in the south. Rio de Janeiro, symbolized by its 38m Christ the Redeemer statue atop Mount Corcovado, is famed for its busy Copacabana and Ipanema beaches as well as its enormous, raucous Carnaval festival, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes, and samba music and dance. Vibrant São Paulo is packed with shops, restaurants and cultural institutions including the noted Museum of Art. Brazils capital, Brasília, founded in 1960, is a planned city with modernist buildings by Oscar Niemeyer. The northeastern state of Bahia, known for beaches and dense Amazon rainforest, reflects African influences in its capoeira martial arts, axé dance music and moqueca (a coconut milk-seafood stew). Its capital, Salvador, retains its 16th- and 17th-century core. Farther north are Alagoas coral reefs, Maranhãos sand dunes and Portuguese colonial town Olinda.
