Miroslaw Wawak first traveled to Peru in 2014, immersing himself in a country steeped in mystery, history, and staggering natural beauty. Standing at the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu high in the Andes, he felt a profound connection to a civilization that left its mark on the world. His journey also took him through the Sacred Valley, where local traditions thrive, and to the bustling streets of Lima, a city blending colonial architecture with modern life. Exploring Lake Titicaca, the Amazon rainforest, and the vibrant markets of Cusco, Miroslaw experienced the incredible diversity Peru has to offer. The country left a lasting impression through its colorful culture, its deep spiritual roots, and the warmth of its people. Peru became a highlight of his South American travels and a destination filled with stories, flavors, and unforgettable views.

About Lima: Lima (/ˈliːmə/ LEE-mə; Spanish pronunciation: ˈlima), originally founded as Ciudad de Los Reyes (City of The Kings) is the capital and largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín Rivers, in the desert zone of the central coastal part of the country, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Together with the seaside city of Callao, it forms a contiguous urban area known as the Lima Metropolitan Area. With a population of more than 9.7 million in its urban area and more than 11 million in its metropolitan area, Lima is one of the largest cities in the Americas. Lima was named by natives in the agricultural region known by native Peruvians as Limaq. It became the capital and most important city in the Viceroyalty of Peru. Following the Peruvian War of Independence, it became the capital of the Republic of Peru (República del Perú). Around one-third of the national population now lives in its metropolitan area.
